I'm thinking of buying this wanhao printer (https://3dprintingcanada.com/collections/3d-printers/products/wanhao-duplicator-i3-mini)

I'm a complete newbie so i have no clue if this is a good choice. I;m based in Canada, so i need to buy it from a shop that ships to Canada. This one seems like a good choice to start out on and play around with. Has anyone here used it?

Looks very industrial. That would be a good thing. Price isn't bad. No heated bed. But it uses BFB input so this is a good thing.

You might also keep an eye on local sales of the now defunct 3D Systems Cube 3 printer (see forum section).
It uses a proprietary file format; its been hacked for generic filament; also has no heated bed; and we've already accessorized the heck out of it.
People have also hacked the input files from generic slicers.
Reason I mention this is that the last one I bought was only USD$125-/new.
The idea is that it is a simpler and cheaper place to start from since there is hardly any setup to deal with so you just learn how to make prints rather than dialing in the printer. Some very obvious shortcomings need to be overcome (stock cartridges) but after that, just print things.

At the low price, you may wonder how good Wanhao Duplicator i3 Mini could possibly be. This printer is on version 2.1 and measures 19.7 x 18.9 x 11.8 inches. Its printing speed between 10 to 100mm/s which is depending on your settings. This 3d printer comes with a 0.4mm nozzle and print at the temperature up to 260C. You can search online. Many online stores offer 3d printer in Canada. Compare their prices and buy your best 3d printer.
