Hi

I have had a quite a few times when i have been logged out in the middle of a session.
Don't know why, maybe some activity timeout. Don't think its my connection to the internet, its a stable fiber connection.

It is quite irritating if you notice it when you are about to post a reply, its easy to miss the simple solution to copy everything you've written and then paste it in again after logging in.

Maybe something to look into.

Never faced anything similar like this... Whats the exact error you're getting? Browser? OS?

My login stays on even if i close the browser or shut down the computer for a week.... unless i manually log out of course....

I'm using firefox on Win7 64bit.

Don't really notice anything starnge happening, no error messages or so.
The suddenly i notice i'm no longer logged in. Sometimes due to the lack of the quick reply box, sometimes by looking on the top.
And at least once i have written a comment in the quick reply box and get the message that i have to log in to post.

All very strange.

You might have the cookies disabled. That will prevent the sessions to persist across multiple pages.

Yes or security setting set to too paranoid... or even antivirus scanners and firewall softwares sometimes do this... along with registry cleaners set to auto clean and such.
