PrintToPeer: Print in the Cloud with a RaspBerry Pi

STL files are on the web, your 3D printer should be tooIt has never been easier to find free 3D printable objects online in marketplaces like Thingiverse and YouMagine. All you want is to send the design to your 3D printer, but instead you need to process the files on your computer. What if the files were repaired and sliced on the web and sent straight to your 3D printer?

PrintToPeer gives you a web dashboard for your 3D printer that lets you upload STL files, or import them from other web services.






You'll need to have:

A Raspberry Pi
A USB power supply for your Raspberry Pi
A PrintToPeer SD card (or a Class 10 SD card that's 4GB or larger)
An ethernet cable
A 3D printer running Marlin or Repetier (we're still working on MakerBot/X3G support)
A USB cable to connect your 3D printer to your Raspberry Pi

Download the PrintToPeer SD Card image (https://s3.amazonaws.com/ptp-alpha/PrintToPi-20140714.img.zip), and write it to an SD Card (windows (http://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/installation/installing-images/windows.md), mac (http://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/installation/installing-images/mac.md), linux (http://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/installation/installing-images/linux.md))

1. Insert your PrintToPeer SD Card into your Raspberry Pi.

2. Insert your WiFi Adapter, or connect your Raspberry Pi to your wired network.

3. Connect your 3D Printer to your Raspberry Pi.

4. Power up your Raspberry Pi.
