Forum not secure? No https available?

Is there any reason that the forum didn´t work with SSL encryption?
Is there any plan to upgrade the forum on https ?
What is the recommandation if I would use this forum but won´t want to share my passowrd in plain text?

Am I the only one here who wonders about the non-encryption of the forum?

The forum software is a bit outdated, I have to work on that, its just a bit tedious and some things just break, just have to find time and see if I can make it work.
