Hi, lately the fan of my Cube 3 makes it very rough, it looks like it has some bad bearing or something, you have opened the printer, you know which fan model or where can I order it before it completely breaks?

Yep, mine was also failing. The printer's housing makes it sound much worse.

Unfortunately it is a very powerful fan so not any 5015 fan will work.

I bought this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/172469690619?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Just ignore the yellow wire.

I haven't found a way to safely take the old one apart.
The old fan still works fine for hobby purposes.

It would be nice to locate the spare part or something! Can you put some picture of the original fan and its reference numbers?

The picture above is of the failed OEM fan.

SUNON MF50151VX the -B000 is a customer code and the -A99 function code

Oh, and 3DS soldered the fan in-line.
No connectors.

You will need to do a nice splice or bury a connector down low.

I will buy one to have a spare!

Either will work fine perfectly.

What is a vapobearing!?

05-13-2017, 05:19 PM
Air bearing. The idea is that the magnet lets the fan blades float on the axis.

They claim a 70,000 hour bearing life. HA!

Sounded like "vaporware", "vaporbearing", no bearing, but you pay the excellence lol
