Yeah well i've sent a mail about it - but no response. Ill probably be buying a new board by the end of the summer.
An update to powering the heated bed through the extra extruder connector - it seems that it doesnt have enough power to have them both running at what temperatures i would like them to. I've been printing at 85C on the bed and 220C on the extruder. The GCode starts to send the command for the heated bed to get to 85C. When that is reached, it sends the command to heat the extruder to 220C. But sadly, it wont reach 220. It only reaches ~170C on the extruder.
So, ive tried some different settings. And the one that i currently use, is 40C on the bed and 220 on the extruder - which works!
Far from optimal - but the ABS seems to grip to the bed well enough when i use a gluestick. Its either this or buy a new board :)
Gluestick over alu?
Gluestick on Kapton-tape.
Hairspray is cheaper and easier to apply imho :D
I ground my Borosilicate glass and use Aqua Net Purple can hair spray.
First time I've been happy printing ABS.
