I'm very excited SAO. I actually bought that exact same sensor about a month ago. I've been meaning to design a mount but I hadn't yet had the time. I'm very interested in how this goes.
SAO, what kind of sensor is it? Are you using capacitive or limit switch with servo?
So I just figured I'd post this here. I've been playing around with this new 3D design software called OnShape. It's cloud based so it actually runs in your browser. It's reminds me a lot of...
I'm interested in 1 set.
So I spent some time looking at my printer and the few shots that Rapide provided of the new slider mounting. You can see here:
917
and here:

that they modified the mounting brackets...
Boden, I was thinking the same thing, it would be better to be able to prototype it and get it just right before producing a bunch. That's why I was wondering if you can wait. I should be able to...
Boden, I'm interested, but I'm wondering how long you're willing to wait. I want to spend some time looking at it this weekend. Also, I'm looking at joining a makerspace where I live, and they have a...
I'm really curious to see how EXACTLY they did the retrofit for the 200 with sliders. I can't imagine they rebuilt the whole x-wing, though I suppose they could have. I haven't seen any photos that...
Let us know if you get that list, I'd really like to know what they used.
I had a question about that Bolson. Can you not just swap the hot-ends? Then use the rest of the Rapide extruder?
So I looked at my printer last night and fortunately the extruder housing doesn't catch the way yours does Boden. Mine has maybe a mm of clearance and is pretty straight. I'm just curious, is it just...
Wow, that looks awesome. Was planning to have a look tonight to see what could be done about mounting the slider where the rods are. The screw in steel round bar is a really elegant solution. I...
I know what you mean. I have the parts for at least 4 different mods/upgrades just lying around and I'm looking at 1 or 2 more. Unfortunately, my day job has gotten really busy and looks to stay that...
I've definitely experienced that play on the X-wing, though I've not noticed as much on the bed. I really want to change my X rods out with a slider, but that price is pretty high. Plus, I'm sure it...
I was troubleshooting my heat bed, and there are two points on the underside of the bed that you can get to easily to measure the voltage. If you slide the heatbed all the way to the Y-zero point...
For the extruder calibration I just followed Tom's Guide which I'll link below. It's pretty simple though. You just mark say, 150mm on you filament from where it enters the extruder. Then heat the...
Ugh, this is kind of driving me crazy now. Mounting the bars on top of each other is a terrible plan. If one bar is lower by 10 microns in either the extruder housing mount or the supports on the...
Sorry, I meant the amount of material extruded. Mine was under extruding significantly. Fixing that meant it laid down more material which helped deal with the areas where it was slightly higher. I...
I ordered 3mm of borosilicate and also noticed the bed still seemed warped afterwards. I feel really silly for not realizing it was some sag on the extruder bars, since I'm regularly doing sag...
I'm curious, would it be possible to swap just the hotend? Fortunately, I've not had to take my extruder apart so I don't know the shape or size of the hotend assembly.
Ah, that's probably what's happening. I just tried some of the solder I'm used to in a corner of the pad and I had to go way hotter than normal to get good flow.
LoefflerG, how did the new PCB heat bed work? I'm really interested to know as I've been considering getting one.
Sorry, should have been more clear. I meant the soldering iron temp for de-soldering the connections to the heat bed.
Has anyone here de-soldered the existing heat bed connections? I'm having a hard time getting the solder to melt. I kept bringing my temp up until I was at 400C. At that point I was worried I might...
Well, I got to test the heat bed temps with the borosilicate glass and I was able to hit 110C without any issue, even pushed it all the way to 115C just to see. I'm pretty excited to try an ABS print...
