I usually don't respond at all to these sort of things and only offer my facts, judgement, experience and help when I can.
First of all I hope this is the the last instance of vulgarity on the...
Cal (auto or manual) sets the zero point, then every layer is indexed from that same zero point.
0.02mm seems reasonable, even if the mylar is also 0.02, the RMS is 0.028.
Tim
Yes I'd think gap gauge non-sticker portion for those that can't do autocal is the right starting point.
Everyone else that can get autocal to work should be able to use autocal.
I think that is...
Hi all,
I think there is some debate about gap settings. Gap fixes only first layer and there are more robust ways to fix this with the BFB tweaker python code working on top of S3D profiles. Also...
G70, thanks I appreciate the feedback. Keep in mind it's based on collaboration and help from you and MegaloDon along with all the other hard work by people on this board and OpenBuilds which...
3DS uses 0.5mm which is calculated with a little trig from BFB code directly from CubePrint. I think you inadvertently helped fusing by using smaller spacing. My S3d profiles are set to match...
In many cases stock PLA through CubePrint outer layer can be peeled from the second layer, so even the baseline needs a little tuning. I don't think this is an artifact of my nozzles, I think you'll...
Hey John, sorry if I took your response too literally. Printrbot filament is the other one I've printed with and have fine tuning parameters.
Tim
John, it actually is frosted mini-wheats. If you try to print amolen with stock 3DS PLA settings it won't fuse well, and will look very stringy and have a lot of gaps.
Tim
I've been really busy with a lot of things at work and still look like I'll be busy for a while, so I've actually had limited time to dedicate to this stuff.
Suffice it to say I think I've got...
Sorry Tommy, actually not related menus in general. Much like G codes, these special M codes tell the firmware what to tell the hardware to do. I'll answer on the BFB code thread a little more.
Tim
JohnTee, send me your BFB and I'll swap left to right for you. Basically this is what needs to be done, and I can do the hand edits easier than explaining to someone else. I figure I owe you a...
Hi John,
swwinterry's decoder works for me (32bit only), Mythandar's encoder works for me also only 32bit

3dline. What do you mean by the cap? On the printhead there is a nozzle, or do you mean the black cover over the nozzles on the printhead.
What slicer are you using. What filament and...
Looks like the bracket sans sensor. Probably about $35.
Hi JohnTee, yes it's definitely an alternative. Yo definitely need something stickier than blue painter's tape. I still prefer gaffer's tape because it sticks really well to the bed is reusable and...
Hi Harry, this first one is the hardest. I snap an edge off of a razor blade making sure the edge is slightly shorter than the width of the chip. Then you want to make sure you' push the blade as...
Hi Tommy, hardware changes such as drilling the nozzle are irreversible, there are software means to achieve the desired result within reason. Examples of things outside of reasonably possible to...
I've heard that before, but their website hasn't changed since I last looked into going there in person. if you have contacts just PM me. I don't want to go there and waste the time/gas if the doors...
Never observed the change in filament diameter. But my experience with AMOLEN is this: out of the box with default settings it would appear worse, but AMOLEN seems to have a slightly higher melting...
Doe anyone have experience with HIPs for support material?

Awesome guys. I'll just keep asking dumb questions and hope for brilliant answers. :)
Tim
Awesome!
G70, my browser cannot interpret this (http://cubify.s3.amazonaws.com/) I get an xml listing with no usable links to files.
swwinterry, do you have a version that will also encode. The decoder...
