    New to 3D printing

I have a CR-10 in the mail, never did any 3D printing before. I have experience 3D modeling in AutoCAD so I will most likely be designing stuff in CAD and converting to .stl files for printing. Ultimate goal is making patterns for sand casting aluminum parts for vintage hot rod/motorcycles. I am sure I will have lots of questions. If anyone else is using CAD I would be glad to help if possible.

Do you have a line on OEM drawings for those castings?

No these would be parts I model in CAD from scratch, sometimes based on old parts in hand, or on old photos, or possibly old parts 3D scanned. I'm new to this but the possibilities seem endless.

Indeed. Good luck! I am a Pro|E/SW user myself.

When I worked at Siemens, I had Solidworks loaded on my computer, and played with it a bit, but never really learned it. Seemed very different from AutoCAD, and after using it for nearly 30 years, it is hard to learn a different system.
