Best adhesion? You mean easiest filament to deal with? PLA.
If you mean "bed adhesion", try hairspray.

I have blue tape adhering to my parts after printing and peeling from the plate... a little water and it is clean.
This is a very specific blue tape as not all blue tapes behave the same.

    That's 3DS ABS, BTW.

Oh yea, very water soluble. But PLA and ABS just love this particular tape.
I went out of my way to get 4 rolls at 1-7/8" wide from Amazon.

    And I've tried them all!

Got a better deal than this but here is the link:

Yes, the tape is generic to any non-heated build plate. If heated. I don't know what happens to the glue on the tape.
The filament sticks better to the tape than the tape sticks to the plate, so any curling will be from the tape adhesive not maintaining.
Burnishing the tape to the plate helps. For the most part, burnishing is not required.

Even for a heated plate most of the times you need additional aids...

There is no need to heat it, or at least, heat it much less. You can bypass the "stick me" heat and just go for "don't curl on me" heat.
