    Okay, the default auto-gap is set in calibration. After it performs cal1 and set with a generous clearance, press the screen just to the right of the Cal2 label. This will initiate another adjustment. Once this is completed, the default auto-gap will be very close to your cal1 setting. I normally have about a 4mm gap by default. I am not sure if the auto-level uses this information of not.

    Auto-level is built into the FW. You cannot bypass it. You can, however, tune the level to minimize auto-leveling operations while printing.
