Decibel Reading?
Hey all!
I just wondered if anyone know what decibel level this printer usually runs at? I am out of filament at the moment so I can't test it out, and I can't seem to find it anywhere online either. Looked around on here as well, but no luck.
Thanks!

Good god yes! I am trying to get numbers together to justify buying a CR-10 haha! If I can prove to my wife that it is much quieter I can get away with buying one

CR is definetly much quieter and bigger lol

Yeah from what I could tell it was a lot quieter; I just wondered by how much. And I love the fact that it's pretty much double the size of the Cube!
-
Which makes one ask if the Cube|Pro is any quieter since it is enclosed.
I know what it takes to drowned mine out... 2 doors and the TV at 66%.
We're easily nearing 100db on certain motions.

Dang!! I thought it was loud but I didn't think it was that loud haha! I have it stashed half the house away from me and I can still hear it if the TV isn't on full blast. From what I can gather, the CR-10 is around 50-60ish stock and can be made a lot quieter with some mods.

I think a lot of the noise is self-induced with the chosen motor speeds. The Cube hits resonance near-perfectly with the stepper timing.
When the tray or the print-head servos, it is very quiet, definitely within limits, but the actual stepping just rings the thing like a bell.
Try setting the printer on some relative stiff open cell foam or a gel-pad. You will remove a lot of the massive highs that carry so well.

Right now I have it resting on a folded up yoga mat. I think that's about the best that I have really. It helped to dampen a lot of the noise, but it's still way loud.

I can hear mine through the floor. Drives my wife crazy! It helped taking the plastic case off the carrier but still loud.
