Reply after your own post edits instead of new message
When I try to enter a new message following my own message (post??), it always ends as an Edit to my previous message, instead of making a new one.
It does this whether I use Reply, Reply to Thread, or Advanced.
Is this how it is supposed to work?

Ok, for example...
This is a "Reply to Thread". I would like it to be a new message, but... here it is in my original message!!

Now, this is a Quick Reply.
It appears I cannot do anything but add Edits to my existing message, until someone else creates a new message in the thread. After that, I can create one new message.

This is a "Go Advanced" message. I even entered a new Title for it. But the Title will not show up. And this will be added to my existing message.
Help!!

Yea... that's the way it is here ... but brotha - I HEAR YA! Ruins direct post links making build replies impossible.

TD - Thanks for the reassurance that I'm not completely nuts!
I suppose one could sign up another userid, and use that to post "spacer messages" between the meaningful messages.
Is the session timeout for this site really short? I seem to get logged out rather quickly - like 5 minutes or so. Often, by the time I have thought a minute and typed a Reply, I have to log in again.

Mine doesn't time out. I also have the "keep me logged in" selected at the login.

Thanks for sharing. I found a lot of interesting information here. A really good post, very thankful and hopeful that you will write many more posts like this one.

Ooopps... Even I was facing the same thing but thanks for clarifying instead.

FWIW - A workaround for adding something before someone else has replied to your post is to edit your post and add the new stuff after a line of dashes.

You can even do it more than once...

FWIW, if you want to add something before someone else responds, update your post and add the additional information behind a line of dashes. slope game
