    Print quality

Any guidance please on why the top layer is poor? The other layers are not so bad. Measurement wise the layers are a few 000's out nothing drastic.

Possibly overhang, but I'm leaning towards under extrusion as I had problems with a Train Whistle that was very porous, you could see holes in the top surface.

As it happens I have printed the Robot shown in the article 'overhangs' section as he does not look as bad as their example. I used identical settings to the calibration piece above.

    Layer height = 0.20

I'm now worried I have my nozzle size wrong as I've been using 0.4 whereas the default supply by RLite could be 0.3 ???
If 0.3 is correct then my machine would be sending less filament because it thinks the nozzle is bigger ???

Ok, I'm going to re-run the calibration piece with everything identical except change the nozzle size to 0.3, will report back later.

An 'enforced' change as Cura suggested changing initial layer from 0.25 to 0.22 as it was outside of the 'normal' 75% of nozzle size parameter.

did you specify to Ethan to have a 0.3 nozzle ?
if not, you have a 0.4.

    i don't think it is the nozzle, I don't have abs so i can't confirm the T

did you try to lower the extrusion T @220 or 230 ?

the calibration piece is fine, i've done one too.
the top bit is over hang to be cut off.
so you get a 25mm height with 25mm base, then each layer up is 5mm
less til it is 5mm at the top.
    so great job
