Does anyone have a surplus Cube 3 motherboard??

I would like to replace the bricked motherboard in my Cube 3.

I'm hoping someone has updated their Cube with a Reprap board setup and saved the original motherboard...

Please reply if you happen to have one you don't need!

    TIA,
    John in N Texas

im fairly certain that the cube pro motherboard is very similar to the cube 3's. from what i recall, it just had slightly more capable stepper drivers, but its been a long while. used to be able to buy that stuff from 3dsystems directly, dunno if you still can, or that it is a drop in replacement.

Thanks for the tip, walrus. I'd be willing to try a Cube Pro board.

I hadn't thought of trying 3DS, but probably wouldn't anyway b/c of cost.

I'm hoping for a used board someone doesn't need, in the 2 digit price range, rather than the hundreds that 3DS would undoubtably ask!

If they charge $100 for an aluminum and plastic build plate, I can just imagine what they would charge for a motherboard...

I'd designate that machine to be the looser and relegate it to be donor to the new Cube 3... in the mail... with Santa...

No worries! I'm only looking for one that is of no use to the present owner...

Going RepRap for this machine is my Plan B. It would involve much more work and $$. Time will tell... I'm pretty good at waiting!

John, did you ever get a replacement motherboard? Do you still need one?
I’ve been weighing the options between traditional Frankecube and trying to overwrite the original board with marlin or smoothie or something, but I suspect the brainwashing route is a bit beyond my programming ability, since as far as I’ve found over the past couple weeks, no one has tried it.

rather than bricking it and/or having to learn how to program, I’d be willing to send it across the state to a good home.
