Help on fixing missing Z layers

    Hi all,

I'm new to 3d printing. So, this maybe a common problem to fix (I just can't seem to find a fix for it). Anyways, the problem I'm having is missing Z layers when printing a model. You can see this problem in the attached image. What I really don't understand is the problem doesn't show up in Cura's layers view. Any idea what could be wrong? This happens with other models I've tried to print out as well.

    Thank you for any help!

    Welcome to the forum, RR.

It looks like it is trying to extrude in those apparently missing layers.

On my printers, that means something clogged the nozzle or restricted filament feed during that layer.

Make sure there is no restriction in your bowden tube and then make sure your nozzle is clean.

Okay, I'll give that a try when I get home later. Thanks for the advice!

    Yeah it could be...

    1) model is wrong (corrupt in those layers even if preview is fine)
    2) card data is wrong (try different card)
    3) file is wrong (format card and retry)
    4) filament is tangled (try different spool)
    5) partial clog (clean nozzle, cold pull, etc)

    any combination of the above
