Touchscreen anyone?

So besides of adding RaspBPi for remote control/operation, are you willing to add a touchscreen as well or is your phone/tablet enough screen for your printer?

I've been quickly checking the touchscreen market for the Pi and I think I can only locate Pi v1.0 screens... nothing for the PiB+ except the too large 7" HDMI one...

I think 3.8 or 5" would be awesome additions to our printers and a nice software showing nice graphics of ongoing prints

But i reckon with http access to the printer this may be unnecessary?

I think that a Touchscreen is well worth a shot. The Octoprint gives you a remote to your printer, thats awesome - but while doing maintenance or like switching filaments, you still need a second device to control it.

A set of manual controls would be good. Like a Touchscreen or a set of ordinary buttons - but ofcourse, touchscreen is always the preferred for diagnostics and graphics.

As far as compatibility goes, i think they fit all versions with the correct drivers

Thats pretty cool! Only there are no graphics for temperature etc.
The fact that you could preview timelapses on that little screen is really nice With that - you can see where the print went wrong

But given you access Octo thru a browser, a smartphone is already the bridge device, right?

On the lack of RPB+ displays, i meant you dont need to use the GPIO on a B+ since it has a "display" port in addition to HDMI right?

OK besides setting up the touchscreen etc. i wonder what kind of OS image is this guy on the video using...

Ie. he boots up rasp then asked for login and then... it loads the chromium interface(?) for octoprint?!?

where/how do we get to this?

Using raspbian image and loading it with specific browser+octoprint?
Using octopi image and adding chromium + some sort of autoexec file?
any clues?

Icons are NOT included in the package. You need to take/buy your own license. Which icons are used is described in the manual.
