Both should be fine, as long as AT16u2 is updated to the last version

You mean firmware or hardware of ATmega16U2? And can you able to try updating fw of AT16U2 via DFU mode?

ATMega16U2 is the chipset for USB2Serial, and this chipset has a firmware. This firmware must be on the last version or it will suffer from the premature death as mine did.

Unfortunately Ethan has not yet told me how to put their board in DFU mode... the jumper solution didnt work for me at least.

Im finally happy to report I'm able to upload Marlin "Rapide" firmware to the RUMBA board using a RaspberryPi... I was totally unable to using my MacOS computer after a week of trying and trying and trying....

Let's see if this worked!
