Amount of motors/controllers on the Rapide RumbaHybrid Board?

By looking at our Rapide board, i notice it has 6 motor ports labelled X, Y, Z, E0, E1 and E2.

So far, in a stock RL200, all of them except E2 come wired.

X, Y, Z and E0 are obvious, but what is E1 feeding actually?


Unless, of course, E0 is Z2 and Z is Z1....

They appear to be running the Z axis as two separate drivers - ie, one stepper motor for each driver (two motors, two drivers), where as other builds will wire the steppers either in parallel or series on the one driver...... ie two steppers for one stepper driver.... at least thats what I can see compared to my ordbot hadron using the ramps board... one driver is being used with the motors coming off wired in series... which then leaves a stepper driver free for another extruder - E0 E1 E2 are the extruder driver designations from my understanding....

Moire pattern................ ????

The moire pattern would not come from the Z axis as that moves up and down, I think that pattern appears from the "micro steps" as the filament is fed and deposited with the extruder stepper.

That had been identified as the most likely candidate, I just wondered if a tiny fluctuation in each end of the x-wing might cause a tiny wobble in the extrusion.

There are pros and cons to individual drivers to separate etc, people would swear that you need to run TWO separate drivers, where others say you run the one driver in parallel because of such and such and others say you run it in series because of such and such..... theres no real right or wrong answer, there are so many factors at play here you can go crazy trying to figure out whats what.....
