You first need to hack your Z wires to go thru ONE driver and add a heatsink to the chip if you havent done so...

Did anyone get the Dianon hotend mounted yet? ANy luck?

My only "but" is how/where to mount the motors smartly...

HI,
I've got the diamond head mounted and have had a few test prints. Just working with one colour so far. Having a little problem with te firmware, but making some edits - has anyone else gotten this far?
Thanks!

That's really great Clayton, good job. Can you find an appropriate connector to fuse two Z motor cables into one?

Hi Fixx,
I actually am already well past that - I ordered the Z splitter cable on ebay and it worked with a little shaping of the plug.
First I didn't have one of the heatsinks tightened down enough, and got some ooze.
Then the extruder was clicking - missing steps, it was the temperature - I'm running this 10 degrees hotter than I would have on the stock extruder - the extrusion became smooth on all three colors at 210c for PLA.
Yesterday it was all in the firmware, the Diamond-modded firmware was setup for about 10X less resolution on all axis so it was all moving to far per step.
I have the firmware dialed in right now, I think - I will post it if anyone is interested.
I've printed in each of the three colours - a 45 minute print each to test, and all is good so far. I'm going to try three colour in one print next, I'll post the video if it works out.
Cheers,
Clayton

Yes please, the dimaond is still sitting here on my pending installation list lol
Also interested in the adapter "rapide to diamond" piece you may have come up with!

I actually did an old-school job and took a piece of aluminum, bent it roughly into shape a drilled a few holes in it. I did design a bracket for it as well, but was unable to print it, as I had fried the stock head.
Have a go at it here:

Let me know if it works!

I did have something similar done for the BQ unibody here.

Which could be handy for "almost anything else"....
But yeah, anything should work. Nice job mate! Much admiration! Next job should be a proper motor holder!!
Did you see the way a user (Guy?) was mentioning about positioning the spools on the back of the printer?
