Anybody ever find out if we can order new bearings/optical rods from an online retailer instead of paying the insane prices/shipping cost from Rapid?

These aren't off the shelf common reprep parts? Do we really need to have someone cut them? I just want to buy them at a reasonable price!

Take my Money BobenHamHotspur! I need to replace my bearings/rods because there is just too much play/vibrations. I refuse to give rapid 500 dollars for a slider kit and be their test dummy once again!

If a few more people are interested then I will get a price for the revised system only I do not want to keep asking the engineering company to price yet another quote. Ideally I need to go to them with the firm interest of several people to keep them interested or they will think that I am just wasting their time.

Hmmmm I wonder why the 200 slider upgrade would cost the same as the 350 one? May be it's a typo?

I'm really curious to see how EXACTLY they did the retrofit for the 200 with sliders. I can't imagine they rebuilt the whole x-wing, though I suppose they could have. I haven't seen any photos that provide a good shot of the mounting bracket or slider mounting. Maybe I just missed it? And Boden I'm quite interested in your slider design as well. I've been looking at an OpenRail system too, but it looks like you have to give up some print area on the X-axis due to the plate. Ultimately, I just really want to switch to a slider for the x-axis, but I can't seem to decide how I want to do it.
