This was just printed with the (SAO's) PRO duct on my Rapide - judge by yourself:

DOnt forget though that pictures emphasize printer layers.... at natural it looks much better.

Can you try this without scaling: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:215703/#files

Overhangs become worse and edges become rough with nozzle fan.

OK i will try it asap. I did print this one on UV glow with the original Rapide fan duct, and it was not "perfect"...

I also printed it over buildtak on my early days; now that I got better equipment and experience, i'll post back once i print it with the pro fan duct.

    We'll see

I have never actually used my version, I made it just for the challenge. What modifications do you recommend? Did you try SAO's original version yet ?

If I had time, I will definitely run a simulation of airflow, but currently I can't do it.

I think we don't need 360deg holes, just 2 big holes front(a bit smaller) and back(a bit bigger). Because lots of smaller holes creates resistance.

Also those bigger holes points downward like the original one.

Your model is good SAO, physics is the troublemaker .

BTW, I've seen lots of nozzle fan design over Thingiverse, but I think best fan setup is Ultimaker 2's, we can simulate it with two big wide holes maybe.

Fixx - I have put an amended version up on the original Thingiverse link http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:806629 for you to look at before I complete it. I reduced the number of holes, made them as large as I can and changed the angles slightly. Let me know if you need them pointing even more downwards and if you need more holes removed, then I will complete the model and upload the finished version.
