Maybe a mod to your design like this will result in a stronger more stable mount for your extruder.

Yes, it is better. Also I recommend %95-98 infill instead of %100, which is stronger I read somewhere.
Indeed that design looks awesome too! But... how do you fit it onto the block? I think it would require too much flexibilityOr to complete disasseble the Xwing
Why/how 95-98 would be stronger than 100%?
It depends on what you expect. For what I read, 0.3mm and 100% infill gives the best strength still:

Yes, it is right, %90 is suggested for a little bit more elongation without break.
yep but we need a "steel like" solid piece here, not one that we want "elastic" even if it's minimal.
Slide it over the rails, turn 90 degrees, slide over block
Print it in this direction (Z looking down) and it will have pretty good strength
