    Smart print of the day!

Lets try to keep this somehow alive!

What about everyone suggesting at least an interesting "print of the day"? ONE post per day is the MINIMUM requirement in this thread!

    Finger Wrench (digit spanner)

by francfalco, published Jul 29, 2015

    Description

When you are in an awkward position trying to attach a nut to a bolt, a finger wrench may be just what you need. Tight corners especially, and anywhere that requires reaching into the unknown: dropping a spanner down the back of a radiator is all too easy, dropping your finger is not.
I recently discovered this great little gadget on a DIY blog but unfortunately the company that originally supplied it is no longer making the product (why??) and i can't find anywhere to purchase existing stock.
I had to have one, so I modelled and 3D printed this little beauty and it works a treat!
    Easy to use:
There is a gap all down the back side, thereby allowing one size to fit a wide range of fingers. Slip a nut or bolt into the wrench as shown in the two images. Finger pressure keeps the nut or bolt in place. The tapered slot inside the wrench prevents the nut or bolt from turning.
Suitable for 1/2inch nut/bolt and smaller.
Print PLA or ABS 0.2mm 100% infill for strength.
    Enjoy!

    Mankati Snail Shaped Filament Container
    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:852621/

by ChristinaL, published May 28, 2015

There are three STL files including the upper part, the bottom part and the tubes. The tubes come in different sizes in order to match filament of different diameters. Note that you might want to set a denser infill to hold the filament properly.

The whole set of the container takes around 60-80 hours to print. Originally designed by Mankati, and printed by a Mankati Fullscale XT Plus.

    The Ultimate box maker

    The Ultimate box maker

by Heartman, published Jan 13, 2016

    Open in Customizer

    Summary

    My first try with OpenScad,
    the box is fully customizable.
I hope you will enjoy with it, and show us many boxes made with.
If you play with the Round value you will go from the sharp to the round sides box
If you want a chanfered box, set Resolution to 1.
To export each single pieces, just set the other to "NO" value.
The Top and Bottom Shells are the same,
so it's not necessary to export them two times.
Check the animation below to see how to setup your own box.
You can change the text shape with any font listed here .
    Have fun
    Print Settings

    Printer Brand: RepRap
    Printer: Home made
    Rafts: Doesn't Matter
    Supports: Doesn't Matter

    Notes:
Here is a small demonstration how to use the Customizer to have separate pieces box. The top and bottom shells are the same, so it's not necessary to make 2 differents stl files. If the front Panel is without text, then the back and front panels are the same, so again, just export one.

mechwarrior-catapult-bobcat-3d-model-print-01.jpgHow about this beauty? Not printed myself, found on web. If it were to choose a 3d printed figurine, this will be my favorite print ever!

If you want to stealth spam, this is not the place though.
