The design concept of the Morpheus is ‘economic efficiency’ and ‘high quality’, it is tuned for 'small production' as well as 'high quality mockup':

Specification, the Morpheus
It is big, really BIG ! Some of you might know the build-volume of the Morpheus (Mark3) from a couple of media such as 3DPrint.com, 3Ders.org & 3DPrintingindustry.com; it was 330mm x 180mm x 200mm. But we decided to make it a little larger than Mark3 version.

We've visualized how the Morpheus is distinguished from the others as below. Also we can proudly mention that the build-volume of the Morpheus is a real number where the user can utilize the entire volume to create one's imagination. The Morpheus uses LIPS (Light Induced Planar Solidification) technology that ensures an uniform irradiation of light to the entire growing surface of the volume. We'll talk more about LIPS later.

Since the 3D printing in DLP type is to make one layer at a time, the effect of platform size for the production efficiency (throughput) is clear. The wider, the better ! You can see the results below; 92 cubes are placed on the Morpheus platform at once.

It is fast, truly FAST ! When we say about the printing speed, there are two approaches to assess it; one is a direct measurement of the growing rate of the layer for the machine, and the other is to calculate (or measure) the total time to get certain number of objects made. We took both approaches.
[Printing Speed] Since it takes 10~30 seconds (depends on materials) for the Morpheus to solidify 100um-thick-layer of resin material, the printing speed of the Morpheus can be set as 0.4~1.4 inch/hour.
[Throughput] We've also calculated to know how long it would take to get 100 cubes of 1-cubic-inches from different 3D printers. Per FDM, we’ve set the layer thickness, infill and nozzle speed as 0.2mm, 25% and 80 mm/sec, respectively. Per DLP, we’ve set the printing speed as 6.2 sec/100um (average value; we’ve collected the data from the market and reflects our experimental data from Kudo 3D’s Titan and local maker’s DLP). Per the Morpheus, we've set 15 sec/100um. We’ve ignored the calculation of the process time per batch such as detaching the printed objects & reloading, any post process and so on. The results show that the throughput of the Morpheus is overwhelmingly higher than FDM (29X) & DLP (16X). Note that this calculation is not applied for a few numbers of objects, but it’s valid for small volume production or the production of large-sized objects.

It is precise, precisely ACCURATE ! The in-plane resolution of the Morpheus is around 170um so that you can get a quite precise object. Also it can print what you designed.

It is simple & easy, just HASSLE-Free to use ! ...We know you're busy and do not want to understand the 3D printer as an expert. Yes, we agree ! A 3D printer is mean for a creative work, not an end. That's why we have been trying to make the Morpheus as simple & easy as we can. It does not need any pre-calibration of image area. It does not need to set many values in slicer program. Just load an STL file and do slicing, then print it. It's simple and intuitive.

Technology behind the Morpheus
To make significant difference with others as well as to ensure the performance toward the production world, the Morpheus has employed a couple of key technologies. Tell me a little about it.
LIPS ; a Key to the New World ...Light induced planar solidification is another way to cure (or solidify) photo polymer. It uses an LCD as a photo mask and UV LED as a planar light source, so that we can manage solidification area by controlling LCD photomask. It has unique features over other resin 3D printers; up & down scalable, no-dependency between scale & resolution, very uniform light intensity over the exposure area. These features enable us to realize a REAL large area 3D printer without any severe difficulties as you can see above. In addition, we will be able to get very high resolution (higher than any other 3D printing technology at present), if we design LCD and LED appropriately. Simply, LIPS is a key to the new world of 3D printing. It's our patent pending technology.

Durable Resin Tank ; no need to change, built to the last. Most resin 3D printers have a consumable resin tank that needs changing after every 1-2L of resin printed. We designed the Morpheus’s resin tank to last, so there’s no more replacing your printer’s resin tank or changing the PDMS layer. We've eliminated the frustrating PDMS process, so you can focus on making great prints without worrying about costly maintenance of the resin tank. It's our patent pending technology.
Materials ; from MakerJuice to MorpheusResin. The Morpheus supports UV resin (photo polymer) and we've used MakerJuice G+ & B9R-1-Cherry. A couple of resins are tested now including castable, ABS-like and so on. Although we're developing MorpheusResin, we'll support 3rd party resin for our user's convenience in the future.
