Cubre Pro Trio - Flex Materials

    Hi,
I've a CUBRE PRO Trio which I have had for several years now.
A number of years ago I updated the print Heads to accept the Flex materials.
Now recently these Flex Cartridges are no longer recognized by the printer when changing materials ??

Any thoughts on how I can fix ?

No longer recognized? If you push the cartridge into place and then go to cartridge status in the menu, do you see it installed (IE, don't bother with the change cartridge function)? If not, are the pins of the EEPROM board (touches the chip) bent? If not bent, you can try cleaning the chip and those prongs with a pencil eraser. Just a couple of light swipes will remove surface oxidation.

If everything looks fine but no cartridges can be seen by that side, then it's the EEPROM board. You'll have to get under the base to replace it.

I've now tried 2 or 3 different cartridges and also cleaned the pins also and still does not recognize.
During the replacement of the cartridge it states only ABS, PLA, Nylon materials can be loaded.
Then when I insert the "Flex" cartridge it states the same message (only ABS, PLA, Nylon materials can be loaded)
If I then cancel the loading on screen and then go back to the menu and material cartridge status, it shows the "Flex" material as inserted and the volume left on it.
However the "Flex" Cartridge is still not loaded into the print head so I still can't print with it ??

OK, this sounds to me like you upgraded the printjet but didn't activate the advanced printjet feature in the setup. It isn't that it doesn't see the cartridge, it just won't accept anything other than ABS, PLA or Nyl - IE, the firmware doesn't see the advanced printjet upgrade. The nozzle upgrade came with an activation code that is used to unlock the firmware (it did when it was new anyways). The printer doesn't detect the advanced printjet automatically.

The advanced printjet must be installed in the printjet 2 location and then activated in the setup options - annoying, I know. Hopefully, this activation code is something that you can get from the seller or 3DSystems.

*If you can plug a cartridge into that 2nd location - don't run change cartridge function, just plug it in - and see it in Cartridge Status of Settings, then you know it isn't the printer or EEPROM reader. It sounds to me like it isn't but this is an easy test to confirm that.
