Don, if you could, would you use 4 OD x 2 ID instead?

    Ok, I finished the guide.
I think we are getting way off topic in this thread.
Maybe we could continue this in the new topic.

4mm OD would be better since it would be less likely to kink (I haven't encountered any problems with kinking by the way). The problem is, how would you make it work with the existing setup? The way I am running mine, there are no splices.

I'm not sure what the original tubing is. When you search "3d printer tubing", everything comes up PTFE Teflon. I know I held a direct flame from my lighter up to the original tubing for about 10 seconds and it didn't melt. Also, the tube goes almost all the way into the hotend of the print head tip and the heat doesn't faze it.

first of all - Thanks for the patch - to all that have been working on it !!!!!

I´m absolutely new to 3D printing, after a friend got one ( not a cube ) - I needed to have one 2, and got my cube 3 weeks ago.
Since then I´m printing, printing ........... but this ABS thing....

Is it possible that the Cube has some sort of "PSK -printing-security-killswitch" in means-of-not-wasting-time-and-filament-if-set-up-is-leading-to-a-mess-patch-or-no-patch ?

I wanted to print a new support-structre I downloaded and as in 90% of these cases the print failed because of the ABS-Problem, MegaloDon has described earlier.
Switched back to the Original and the cube printed-but it was a mess.
Patched back again. I did this a few times. Boring.

I took a look at the file and the original wanted to be printed with ABS ( _WHHHHAAAAAATTTTT ? where the hell did he get that from - without supports.)

Started cube again ( the patched version!) , loaded the model again, - but this time I took a closer look at the setup in 3D, moved and turned parts, and ticked "Supports-On" - just in case - hit print, the Cube started printing the ABS model with PLA instead. Cool - can i repeat that ?

Can someone else please try this procedure, with a model that didn´t want to print ´till now´cause of the ABS - Alert.
Will try that "trick" again later myself - right know mine is printing - and hopefully this is not one off those "He did it - WyTF does´t he do it again" moments.

If turning and moving parts to be printed easy and the supports ticked on (specially for Original ABS model) is the solution (Printing patched 1.14b - and the upper thought in mind then why not, no need to dig further into the Firmware, killing or walking around that eventually existing PSK, would lead to nothing but wasting time and filament.

    What do you think ?

Sorry for writing - I´m German

Update _ 3:00 am in the morning ( needed to stay awake and try it again )

recent ABS to PLA job done.

Took the same Original ABS file again, only that this time the parts are moved in different positions
    print without supports _ ABS-Alert
Print with supports _ The Cube is working fine with PLA !
Print supports or sideway from the other cartridge ( in my case als PLA ) _ ABS Alert.

Looks like you found another thread for the material check. Is this still v1.11? Is that a PLA chip on the cartridge?

    - - - Updated - - -

Working the tubing options, Bo. It'll be a while. I have some ideas.

    Thanks for the tip, Don!

Then to print PLA and ABS with external filament using the chip of the original PLA and ABS cartridge version we use? The patch 1.1 or 1.0?
