Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and work at a school in the Netherlands. We have 2 cube pro printers. I'm trying the hack but somehow both can't download the firmware from the usb-stick. Anyone else had this problem? I did format it to fat32

CubePro upgrades are a bit wonky sometimes. I might recommend a ReCube cartridge recharge solution for CubePro.
There are some tricks to force the F/W but be warned that there is a report of failed temperature sensor and odd behavior of the chamber heater.

Hello rlb! Welcome to the forum. What are you trying to print? If you are downloading STL files from a site like Thingiverse, then you will need to convert those STL models into Cube3 files. You can use the 3DSystems software, Cube Print, for that purpose.

I just decided to try my hand at this 3D printing thing so I bought a couple of broken 3D Cube printers. I'm 70 and a retired Field Service Tech and i restore antique radios and other electronics for for fun lol. Well I have 2 of thoise printers up and running and have had great success with printing. I have the Cube 3D Gen 2, the Cube EKO and Cube 3D Gen 3! The gene 3 is the one giving me the problems! I got it cheep and they said it was working but sold as parts! Had a lot of trouble with leveling the bed because some one had run the the locking set screw down to tight but manage to get that straightened out! The printer won't sign in my WIFI network. It keeps telling me wrong password and I no it's right so I no there is a problem there! But I should be able to put file on a USB drive and print them right? I wasn't aware of the file format difference thou so I'll give that a try! Thanks for your help and insight! I'm pretty sure this printer was a failed upgrade when I got it but I love problem so I'll getter done.

You have quite a set of printers.
I had a cube 2 as well, but the motherboard was fried, so I upgraded it to a BTT SKR V1.3 with TMC 2209 stepper drivers. It works great now. I had an ekocycle as well, but I converted that to a cube3. I aquired another cube3 that wouldn't heat properly, nor connect to my wifi network. I currently have that one torn down to the frame and I am planning on rebuilding it using a duet-skr with reprap firmware using a new BTT board designed for RepRap firmware. Be sure to keep asking questions as they come up. There are a bunch of us that will help you out!

We went through the conversation but I still lack confidence in the solution. My best guess is to install the v1.14B firmware renaming the F/W file to the name of the Ekocycle version 1.05. I cannot swear to that because I have never done this. However, some here are experts at this. Let's see how my memory is functioning ;]

You are close TD. You need two thumb drives. The first one is the real ekocycle 1.05 firmware, the second is the Cube 3 firmware 1.14b renamed to match the ekocycle firmware name. Start the upgrade with the real one, then when the update starts, remove the thumb drive with the original firmware and replace it with the thumb drive containing the renamed firmware and finish the update. It's been a while, but the process is on here or on openbuilds
