This is our first release of the Cube Toolbox for Cube 3 and Cube Pro firmware.
With this tool you can extract, repack and of course patch the firmware.
By patching the firmware you can stop the counting process of the filament chip and thus use filament of your choice.
We do not take any responsibility and we are not liable for any damage caused through use of our Cube Toolbox.

Thx goes to @Kiza which is one of the masterminds in this project, he is the software guy.
And @Geezer70 who helped out alot in the electronics part.
This Thread will also collect all the information and hacks for this printers.

Is there a Tutorial on that EKO to Cube3 conversion here
We went through the conversation but I still lack confidence in the solution. My best guess is to install the v1.14B firmware renaming the F/W file to the name of the Ekocycle version 1.05. I cannot swear to that because I have never done this. However, some here are experts at this. Let's see how my memory is functioning ;]
I wanted to wait until I got confirmation that other people had tested this, but I accidentally flashed my firmware with this. I have tried updating my firmware through USB in the past using the official file from 3DS and it said it couldn't find a valid firmware file. So I just wanted to see if this one would show as valid, but not flash it yet. Well guess what? Once it finds the file, it doesn't ask you if you want to do it. It just does it!!
So after flashing it, I tried to do a test print. I specified that it is PLA in the Cube Print software and I have a PLA cartridge in the printer. The printer shows that the job I saved is ABS and when I hit print, it says "This print requires ABS material".
I flashed it back to the original firmware from 3DS and it is back to normal.
I guess it doesn't work with a 0% cartridge (I don't think it was intended to). I tried it with a 0% ABS and it said not enough material and no option to override.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to using this in the future.
v1.11
- removed materialcode verification (e.g. Print abs files with pla cartridge) for cubepro firmware
hi!
I patched the firmware and it works perfectly with pla.
I still haven´t tried with abs because i don`t know how the cube 3 d pirinter recognizes the filament material.
Anyone could tell me how to do? Do i have to buy at least one original cartridge of abs filament from 3dsystems or can i use a pla cartridge i have and fill it with abs filament?
Thanks for your help.
