    MakerTree3D PLA Light Blue

This may be moot, since I bought this on closeout from a local printing service - a whole $17 for 2kg! The MakerTree3D web site doesn't show it.

It is very touchy about temperature. It seems to prefer 235 for the first layer, then 225 for the rest. I use CubePrint to select PLA, then edit the .bfb code to change the temperatures. If you use the CubePrint PLA temps (235, then 210) it goes stringy then stops flowing and strips at the drive wheel.

That said, it can do pretty nice prints. But I've had it quit extruding in the middle of a part - so it is a bit unpredictable.(Thanks for the 'spacer', TommyD!)

Should have a thread on Filament Saga! You'd find 1,000 ABS posts to every 1 PLA post.

Yet, I yield! Having given a couple of companies all the benefits in the world to get my ABS to print a decent print, they've failed!
If you've followed this thread, you'd know what I mean.
And that certainly doesn't mean you cannot dial in a lousy filament on open source systems.

Even the 3DS cart with ABS orange was marginal in performance.
Never converted it and it always sucked. Did a quick B2B conversion, perfect prints!
Its all about over-crimped cartridge bowden tubes... too much friction in the tube.

After I converted the old orange ABS and brand new violet ABS (actually very old, but sealed until today) and been printing a few nozzles.
The nozzles have 2-trace width walls for cooling towers. When you cut the seam, you can open up the cylinder to see how good the adhesion was.
Seriously, so far, the ABS from 3D Systems is excellent compared to the others I've tried. It is even dimensionally stable similar to the PLA.
I'm going to see if some of the Cube X or CubePro carts also have a quality ABS and how much. I'll pay the extra for reliable performance.

    ...Finally a workable ABS!

    Nice piece of work!

FWIW, I've had some fairly good results with my one spool of MakerShaker ABS. I print the first layer at 245 and subsequent at 240.

I'm planning to try some of their PETG - as soon as I can decide which color.

Some new space for 3D Solutech here.

Finally printed with the Real White PLA that 3D Solutech sent me as a replacement.
This is some nice near-opaque white that has an interesting "crisp" to it.
Not the the property of the material, but the sheen.
    Thumbs up.
