And heads up about DCCOUTLET on eBay. They seem to have a huge stock of Cube3 carts and they're starting to liquidate.
Have a look: https://www.ebay.com/itm/3D-PLA-ABS-...Y/143350695750
Staring at $30(1) w/ free shipping and going down from there. This is getting into the reasonable pricing range. ABS may have a better chance at still being viable; PLA may be getting brittle by now and should be spooled externally and removed after printing.

Welcome to the forum, JMAP.
Are you basically looking for the umbilical snipped at the bulkhead of the cartridge?
I can do $15 +$5 shipping first class (3-4 days to FL).
For an extra $5, I'll throw in the chip programmed to your liking.

I got my cube a few years ago. I got two of them, one cartridge, and one power supply for 200 bucks. I cracked the firmware and used one as a printer, then took apart the other one. Sadly there are not many good parts in them. The only useful things I kept were the motors and linear rails. The rails are nice models with a simple geometry. The motors are not bipolar like regular NEMA motors used in most other printers. If anyone wants them just message me.

Functioning motherboards seem to be useful for the odd blown system. I keep buying parts units only to find them in excellent functional condition.
Also, those little 3x6x2.5mm bearings and white plastic keepers on the belt axes will come in handy at some point. The bearings are basic hobby bearings but having them on-hand is useful. All in all though, you're right, there is precious little to salvage in these. That why it boggles the mind that people would buy these without cartridges.

what boggle my mind is that someone okay-ed this design. The extruder system and bowden tube is fucked. Why could they not use a thicker tube, instead of that flimsy tube.
The hotend also needs a better blower, the stepper motors have no dampeners, and the USB port is too close to the cartridge. The acceleration is also too high and the walls are too thin. This could have been a nice printer. It has a rigid construction and the bed is nice. If only they went with a better feed system.
